The event was meant to bring people together to poetize and pray “for the balance of our out of control ecology,” Rosa De Anda, founder of The Marigold Project, said.
“It’s both a story about inclusion but also deep marginalization,” Dr. Stephanie L. Canizales said.
The non-profit organization helped Mexican immigrant mothers like Guadalupe G. Contreras find community and “break barriers.”
“I know just by watching these debates and stuff…it seems like our presidential candidates are a little worried,” one Gen-Z Latina said. “And I think they should be.”
“These daughters and granddaughters of immigrants are combining the extraordinary and selfless work ethic of their elders with rapid growth of human capital to give life to the U.S. economy,” said Dr. Hayes-Bautista.
“If you apply, you’re going to be added to this list. … And if the Republican wins, it might be something bad that you’re on this list,” Reyes said.
