{"id":5061368,"date":"2023-08-24T01:48:47","date_gmt":"2023-08-24T01:48:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rilatinonews.com\/?p=5061368"},"modified":"2023-08-24T01:48:47","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T01:48:47","slug":"diaz-jusino-appointed-a-strategic-initiative-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latinonewsnetwork.com\/riln\/2023\/08\/24\/diaz-jusino-appointed-a-strategic-initiative-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"D\u00edaz-Jusino appointed a Strategic Initiative Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PROVIDENCE \u2013\u00a0Carmen D\u00edaz-Jusino has been appointed a Strategic Initiative Officer at the <a href=\"http:\/\/rifoundation.org\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"rifoundation.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rhode Island Foundation<\/a>, where she will be responsible for leading the Foundation\u2019s activities and grant-making for economic security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCarmen\u2019s diverse experience in small business development and job training make her a natural to lead our economic security strategic priority,\u201d said Jenny Pereira, vice president of grants and community investments. \u201cShe understands the role of philanthropy in sparking community change and is committed to improving the economic security of all Rhode Islanders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">D\u00edaz-Jusino came to the Foundation from Bank Newport, where she served as a vice president and community development officer. Previous to that, she served as\u00a0Vice President of Programs and Community Development\u00a0at the Center for Women &amp; Enterprise and was a Bilingual Business and Employment Specialist with Goodwill Industries of Rhode Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Providence resident received her undergraduate degree from the Universidad del Caribe, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and received an M.S. in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rhode Island Foundation is the largest and most comprehensive funder of nonprofit organizations in Rhode Island. Working with generous and visionary donors, the Foundation raised $75 million and awarded $84 million in grants to organizations addressing the state\u2019s most pressing issues and needs of diverse
