Election Day is TODAY!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A record 32 million are projected to be eligible to vote (13.3% of all eligible voters) the largest,\u00a0nonwhite racial or ethnic electorate<\/a>\u00a0in the 2020 elections. In\u00a0Massachusetts,\u00a09.0%\u00a0of the eligible voter population is Latino (452,000\u00a0out of a total\u00a0of 5,042,000),\u00a0according<\/a>\u00a0to the Pew Research Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s what you need to know in order to perform your civic duty\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, Nov. 3, and received by a local election official no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6. Voters can drop off absentee ballots at a drop box or election office no later than when polls close tonight, or just vote in-person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Boston,\u00a0voters cannot deposit mail-in votes at polling places.<\/a>\u00a0Those who bring completed ballots will be asked to vote in-person and workers will be responsible mail-in ballots are disposed of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last day to register to vote in Massachusetts was\u00a0Oct. 24.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can check your registration status online<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Election officials will post unofficial results including all ballots cast in-person on Election Day; ballots cast in-person during the early voting period and mail-in and early ballots received on or before Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ballots can be counted if they arrive at local election offices by 5 p.m. on Nov. 6, so long as they are postmarked by Nov. 3. Overseas ballots postmarked Nov. 3 may be counted if they arrive by 5 p.m. on Nov. 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who encounters a problem on Election Day\u00a0should call the Attorney General\u2019s Office Civil Rights Division at 617-963-2917.\u00a0If you are\u00a0in immediate danger, call 911.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
