{"id":5084993,"date":"2016-01-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-01-25T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ctlatinonews.com\/pew-12-million-latino-millennials-will-be-eligible-to-vote-in-2016\/"},"modified":"2016-01-25T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-01-25T05:00:00","slug":"pew-12-million-latino-millennials-will-be-eligible-to-vote-in-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latinonewsnetwork.com\/ctln\/2016\/01\/25\/pew-12-million-latino-millennials-will-be-eligible-to-vote-in-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Pew: 12 Million Latino Millennials Will Be Eligible to Vote In 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Photo credit: america.aljazeera.com<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nA <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pewhispanic.org\/2016\/01\/19\/millennials-make-up-almost-half-of-latino-eligible-voters-in-2016\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">comprehensive data report<\/span><\/a> released today by Pew Research about the changing face of the U.S. Latino electorate concluded that Latino millennials will be 12 million or 44% of the country\u2019s 27.3 million eligible Latino voters, &#8220;a share greater than any other racial or ethnic group of voters,&#8221; according to Pew\u2019s findings.<\/p>\n<p>The Pew report also\u00a0reported\u00a0the following:<\/p>\n<div class=\"lusa_blockquote\">\n<div class=\"bar\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"lusa_blockquote_content\">\nThe median age among the nation\u2019s 35 million U.S.-born Latinos is only 19 (<span class=\"s2\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">Stepler and Brown, 2015<\/span><\/span>), and Latino youth will be the main driver of growth among Latino eligible voters over the next two decades. Between 2012 and 2016, about 3.2 million young U.S.-citizen Latinos will have advanced to adulthood and become eligible to vote, according to Pew Research Center projections.
