She said that she became a citizen, in part, so that she could cast her vote in the presidential race.<br \/>\n<!-- fixed-asset perfectPixelWide --><!-- hearst\/item\/standalone.tpl --><\/p>\n<div class=\"hdnce-e hdnce-item-47196\">\n<!-- mid:freeform.47196 --><\/p>\n<div id=\"ndn-video-player-1\" class=\"fixed-asset perfectPixelWide ndn_embed ndn_embedding ndn_embedContainer ndn-widget-embed-1 ndn_embedded\">Henriquez said she voted for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newstimes.com\/search\/?action=search&amp;channel=news&amp;inlineLink=1&amp;searchindex=gsa&amp;query=%22Hillary+Clinton%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">Hillary Clinton<\/span><\/a> for president because the country needs someone with experience in the office.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Both candidates are no good, but I voted for Clinton because she has more experience and would make a better president,&#8221; she said.<br \/>\nLatino turnout surged in early voting across the country, and in Danbury, Latino leaders were enthusiastic.<br \/>\n&#8220;Latino voters are turning out in very large numbers because we know there is a lot at stake during this election,&#8221; said Carolina Bortolleto, an organizer of the event and founder of Connecticut Students for a DREAM. &#8220;This election has shown how there is still a large anti-immigrant sentiment in the United States and our community it reacting to that.
