One of them was <a href=\"https:\/\/florida.pbslearningmedia.org\/resource\/d5d9e018-73fc-4d00-a128-2b0c55ccd8f6\/rebel-loreta-velazquez-civil-war-soldier-and-spy\/#.WOJ4qxLytE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">Loreta Velazquez<\/span><\/a>, a Cuban woman that fought in the Civil War. She fought in the battles of Shiloh, Bull Run and more as a man &#8217;cause they wouldn&#8217;t let women fight. I thought that was so powerful. It shows Latin people&#8217;s tenacity, vivacity and cleverness.<br \/>\nThen I learned that 10,000 Latin people participated in the American Revolution. And when I saw that I was like, &#8216;Wait a minute.
