Insulin was discovered almost a hundred years ago. There is no reason why prices should be going up now, and it&#8217;s upsetting that these price increases disproportionately impact the Hispanic community.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">State bill seeks to lower sky-rocketing cost of prescription meds<\/h4>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">House bill 7174, contains several proposals that would lower prescription drug prices which would help people have access to the medication they need.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AARP Connecticut is leading the \u201cStop Rx Greed\u201d campaign, which individuals can join by signing a petition at aarp.org\/stoprxgreedct, encouraging legislative and executive action in lowering prescription drug prices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AARP\u2019s Stop Rx Greed campaign promotes four solutions to the escalating prices of prescription drugs: <\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aarp.org\/politics-society\/advocacy\/info-2019\/prescription-drugs-price-gouging.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stop price gouging<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aarp.org\/politics-society\/advocacy\/info-2019\/prescription-drugs-increase-affordability.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">increase access and affordability of prescription drugs<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aarp.org\/politics-society\/advocacy\/info-2019\/prescription-drugs-price-transparency.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">promote transparency<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aarp.org\/politics-society\/advocacy\/info-2019\/prescription-drugs-close-loopholes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">close loopholes<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Editor\u2019s note: CtLatinoNews has endorsed HB 7174 and partnered with AARP Connecticut to support passage of the bill.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cBy passing this legislation, we can give people the immediate relief at the pharmacy counter that they are demanding and they deserve\u201d<br \/>\n~ Rep.
