It adds that because of the pandemic\u2019s impact on the economy and businesses, \u201cit is more important now than ever\u201d that the Cabinet understands the needs of Latinos.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The letter also highlights Cardona\u2019s experience at every level of the education system in their letter, from teacher to principal and professor.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commissioner of Education Miguel Cardona was featured recently on CTLN Opinion + where he spoke about the resources available to families and educators regarding COVID-19.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CTLN Opinion+: Latino history in classrooms with Commissioner of education Miguel Cardona\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/q_VE60wGHa0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cardona has championed a return to in-school-learning during the\u00a0pandemic, saying it is imperative to get children back to face-to-face learning.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The situation remains fluid, and no decisions have been made. Three people familiar with the process <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/education\/biden-education-secretary-fenwick-cardona\/2020\/12\/16\/5811142e-3fb4-11eb-8bc0-ae155bee4aff_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the Washington Post the transition committee is focusing its attention on two candidates including Cardona at the moment. Another person cautioned that others are in the mix.
