HARTFORD\u2014All My Sons<\/a><\/em> joins Hartford Stage\u2019s 2023-2024 season with a timely and honest portrayal of our country. Directed by Melia Bensussen, the classic performance runs from April 11 to May 5, 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1947, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Arthur Miller opened All My Sons<\/em> in New York City as a powerful commentary piece on the American Dream and military-industrial complex. The emotionally complex performance won the Drama Critics\u2019 Award for Best New Play, drawing mainstream attention to Miller\u2019s work.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All My Sons<\/em> tells the story of Joe Keller who co-owned a munitions factory with his friend and neighbor during World War II. Joe\u2019s partner is convicted of shipping defective aircraft engines while Joe is exonerated. In the aftermath of the war, each generation of the Keller family must confront a long-hidden secret that may come to light. The performance explores the Keller family\u2019s dynamics as they deal with shame, greed, guilt, denial, and grief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll My Sons<\/em> brings us into the Keller\u2019s backyard, where a neighborhood is forced to reckon with buried truths, leading to the unraveling of a family,\u201d reads Hartford Stage\u2019s play description<\/a>. \u201cMore than seventy-five years later, this Arthur Miller classic still packs a strong emotional punch and reveals as much about today\u2019s America as it did when it first premiered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Author of Death of a Salesman, The Crucible, and A View from the Bridge, Miller explores political and societal issues in his works, such as guilt and blame, society and individuality, and the American dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performance stars Marsha Mason as \u201cKate Keller,\u201d Ben Katz as \u201cChris Keller,\u201d Michael Gaston as \u201cJoe Keller,\u201d Fiona Robberson as \u201cAnn Deever,\u201d Caitlin Zoz as \u201cLydia Lubey,\u201d Puerto Rican native Yadira Correa<\/a> as \u201cSue Bayliss\u201d\u2014working with theaters across the country, she received a Best Ensemble, Jeff Award for MACHOS<\/em><\/a> in 2008\u2014Godfrey L. Simmons, Jr. as \u201cDr. Jim Bayliss,\u201d Malachy Glanovsky as \u201cBert,\u201d \u201cReece Dos Santos\u201d as George Deever, and Dan Whelton as \u201cFrank Lubey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
