Beloved Mexican singer Vicente Fern\u00e1ndez, the king of ranchera music has died. He was 81.<\/p>\n\n\n

We regret to inform you of his death on Sunday, December 12 at 6:15 a.m,”\u00a0Fern\u00e1ndez’s death was announced in a\u00a0post on his official Instagram account<\/a>; he\u00a0died in a hospital in Guadalajara\u00a0in his native state of Jalisco. <\/p>\n\n\n Fern\u00e1ndez was in poor health after a fall in August that forced him to have surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n In his signature charro outfit, intricately embroidered sombrero, accompanied by his mariachi band, Fern\u00e1ndez brought ranchera music from the ranches of Mexico to the rest of Latin America and the world. <\/p>\n\n\n Fern\u00e1ndez recorded more than 50 albums, sold more than 50 million records, and appeared in more than 30 films. He was\u00a0nominated for 13 Grammys\u00a0and won three. He was best known for his songs \u201cVolver, Volver,\u201d \u201cPor Tu Maldito Amor,\u201d and \u201cEl Rey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
